Trail Ultrarunner & Explorer
Mathieu Blanchard is a professional ultrarunner and adventure athlete born in France, raised in Guadeloupe, and now based in Montréal. He discovered the mountains relatively late but quickly established himself among the world's elite trail runners. In 2022, he joined UTMB World Series Athletics as a sponsored athlete. Known for his infectious positivity and technical mastery, Mathieu believes every race is an opportunity to explore both the planet and the self.

Away from racing, Thomas lives a very grounded life. He is a primary school teacher and has long structured his routine to balance work, family life and elite sport. He has spoken about finding the right balance in Chambéry by working part-time, leaving room to train, recover and stay consistent over the years.
